What are important factors in choosing a wedding photographer?

We believe that it is important to choose someone you like and feel completely at ease with. You will be spending most of your wedding day with them, and the connection you make will have a great impact on the results.

Photographs are both personal and valuable and you need to hire photographers who you know will produce prolific images most naturally.

When searching for your wedding photographers, be sure to insist on seeing complete wedding albums, because it will identify the photographer’s story-telling style. While looking through their “best shot” portfolios, pin-point unique styles that are not derivations of cookie-cutter weddings. Be sure that they identify people’s emotions and that it is not just another cake-cutting image.

Wedding photography is a personal production. Find photographers who will treat your wedding like a work of art and not another commercially driven job.

What type of albums do you offer?

We offer a wide range of albums from Leather Craftsmen and Seldex in Australia. Both companies specialize in beautifully hand-crafted leather bound albums.

Taking advantage of both traditional-darkroom print making process from film and advanced digital album design, we offer one-of-a-kind books that will be treasured for a lifetime.

Please make an appointment to see our albums in person.

What equipment do you use? Film or digital?

We photograph using both black & white film and digital cameras to offer our clients the best of both worlds. Our clients also have an option to have their wedding photographed entirely with film. John typically uses 4 cameras and Joseph uses 3 cameras at any given time in order to maximize the use of unique lighting situations.

Film Equipments

Our film cameras include Leica M-rangefinders, Canon, and Nikon SLR equipments. Our favorite films include; Kodak Tri-X, Kodak TMZ p3200, Kodak Portra NC/VC, Fuji Press 400/800/1600. Typically, 60 to 70 percent of your wedding photographs will be in black & white and remainder in color. You can let us know if you have a preference otherwise. You also have the option to digitize all of your wedding negatives at 6 megapixels.

Digital Equipments

We use Canon Digital SLRs along with our range of professional Canon USM Lenses. All photographs are made using the same chemical and paper processes that are used for film-based photographs that are guaranteed forever.

Do you have your own lab?
Yes. One-half of the photography process is spent capturing images with cameras, while darkroom techniques make up the other half of the process. Printing techniques are mastered by John, who spends hours in our darkroom. Only the finest prints are qualified to be presented to our clients.
Do we get to keep negatives/digital files?

Yes, they are available to you at no additional cost if you prefer. You may also choose to leave the negatives with us if you'd like us to handle reprint orders for your family and friends.

How do we book you guys for our wedding?

Please contact us by filling out our contact form. A retainer fee and the contract is required to secure your date.

We only photograph one wedding per day, so weddings are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Depending on our travel schedule, we may not be available in your city. Once booked, we will not schedule any other weddings or appointments on your day so that we can remain flexible on your wedding day.

Can you pencil in my wedding date?

No. Wedding dates are personal and competitive in nature, so our booking process is very strict. We can not reserve any dates without the retainer fee and contract. Numerous issues have surfaced in the past to competitive bookings, so now our booking policy is very concrete.

Can we change our wedding date after we've booked you?

That depends on which day of the week you are switching to. Changing to a Saturday is very unlikely, but other days of the week are sometimes possible.

Do you travel to photograph destination weddings?
